It's rare for me that I get the opportunity to photograph a wedding for TWO friends of mine. I knew each of these ladies before they ever knew each other and it was such a treat to photograph their wedding just weeks after the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in all 50 states. Abby & Aym are the first same sex couple to be married in their county! This wedding party was one of my favorites. Look at how all their personalities shine as they wear mismatched wedding attire. We used downtown West Plains, MO as our backdrop for wedding portraits. Sarah and I scouted all these spots the night before when we drove in early. We were super excited to find one of the loveliest downtown squares that ever was. I'm officially in love with West Plains! Doing the family portraits on Abby's mom's porch was also a highlight. Back at the reception site, all of Abby & Aym's friends contributed to the event, from everyone bringing homemade pies and sides to friends lovingly preparing a main dish and beer brewed by Aym and her Best Man. Everything about this wedding was full of love, authenticity and originality. I am beyond happy for Abby & Aym, their children, and their community. <3 #lovewins
