If I could buy an incubator to hatch more Jim and Jillians I would, because these were some of my favorite people to work with this year! J&J's crew was SO MUCH FUN to work with! Despite it being 99 degrees, they were down to keep to our original plan and take photos in the streets of downtown Lawrence before heading to Abe and Jake's Landing for their ceremony. With the crew we had time for not just one, but TWO downtown bars: Harbour Lights where the two met and continue to hangout and The Replay where a customary whiskey shot was shared in unison for the pleasure of my clicks. The ceremony was officiated by a friend of theirs who knew their personalities and embedded so many jokes and comedy bits within the ceremony that the time flew by as these two shared heartfelt laughs with friends and family in attendance. I enjoyed an hour long couple's session with these two right after the ceremony, while my second shooter, Brian was documenting photos of cocktail hour. We had the time available so we hit up the Lawrence sign and some fields in North Lawrence. I wish all of my clients would give me a solid hour with them for portraits! We ended the night with a funny photo series of the wedding party in the antique telephone booth that Abe & Jake's keeps as decoration. What a great day! This is what a downtown Lawrence wedding looks like. They are my favorite. <3
