kristina + jayke + vox theatre + kansas city wedding photography

I cater to each and every bride to give them the type of photos that they want most from their day. I guide them along the way and several times a year I hear my favorites words: "Ailecia, I trust you. Let's do it." This was the reaction of Kristina on their wedding day when I suggest it -might- be fun to climb up on playground equipment to get some stellar portraits. Kristina and Jayke trusted me and allowed me to be truly expressive on their wedding day, coming up with ideas from inspiration all around the VOX Theatre. The VOX is not only an amazing venue, picturesque with that vintage/antique flavor, with an amazing nice and helpful staff (not always the case in wedding venues!), but it is also located in a wonderful part of Kansas City Kansas with tons of interesting architectural details just in the immediate vicinity to make portrait taking super easy on your wedding day. Enjoy some of these fun images I made with Kristina & Jayke. A big congratulations to the happy couple! May you find a lifetime of happiness together.

erika + maternity session + bonner springs, ks

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is getting to document important life stages, from weddings to pregnancies. Erika and I have been friends for over a decade, which made this session all the more sentimental for me. I remember Erika at 18, full of life and positive energy, and here she is married and pregnant and still radiated positive energy and literally full of life. We took these photos at her parents' home, where she grew up and where she got married. It was the most fitting setting for these intimate portraits.

Oh Snap! New Years Party

I used to host the most epic New Years Eve sweaty dance parties. To the point that I had to masking tape all of my CDs to their shelves because the dancing on our hardwood floors would send discs diving to the floor. But then the business grew and my focus shifted. And then my business grew enough to rent an office and studio space and so I decided the New Years Eve party had to come back, but this time at the downtown office! Of course I had to set-up a photobooth, what Ailecia party would be complete without one? It's how the photobooth started. Introducing our newest backdrop... the gold sequins... it's sure to become a favorite for glam kids everywhere!

emily + jordan + creekside at berryton + topeka ks wedding photography

Emily & Jordan were so fun to work with at their fall wedding reception. Creekside at Berryton is a hidden treasure, a perfect photo backdrop for a country wedding in the woods. I absolutely loved using the grounds as my personal photo backdrop while snapping portraits of Emily & Jordan and their families at their reception. Congratulations to these two!
