Family photo season is upon us! I love this time of year when the air is crisp and clients can style their outfits with cardigans and layers. I really enjoyed working with the Boyles -- we took photos in the East Lawrence Arts Warehouse District at the end of a really rainy day. I was delighted to learn that they brought galoshes for the kids to play in puddles at the end of our shoot--watching kids engage in pure fun is a highlight of my week! Hit me up for your next family photos! Spring is a perfect time of year for blooming trees and newly green grass. I don't have much weekend availability but tons of evening availability on week days. Sessions start at 6 or 6:30pm to use the best of late day light.

I have to admit, in the beginning, Senior Portraits scared the crap out of me. I'm great working with families and couples, because I'm capturing relationships between people and paying attention to how they interact. With solo portraits, it's just me and the subject, and what I've found that I love is connecting with them along the way, learning a little about their lives and trying to bring out their personalities in the photos. Enjoy my newest senior session with one of the coolest kids I've worked with. Next year Alexis is playing basketball in college and excited to work towards her goal of becoming a police officer. Sending positive wishes to her as she finished out her final year in high school. 

I first met Eli at his sister, Jenny's, wedding. All these years later it's fun to see him as a grown up 18 year old! We had a bunch of fun taking senior portraits together in Downtown Lawrence and in East Lawrence's Warehouse Arts District. Next year he'll be at KU and I look forward to running into him a bunch more! Congrats, Eli!
