It's photo booth time! We were invited to do a photobooth for the UnionFest, a beginning of the year launch event for student organizations and activities. We were hosted by the Office of Multicultural Affairs where people can enjoy amazing programming and resources for students year round. Welcome Back, Students!

Romance Productions creates opportunities for photographers, models, and hair and makeup artists to collaborate. For this shoot we had access to the incredibly beautiful Longview Mansion in Lee's Summit, MO. It was a very hot day, so we were limited to mostly shooting indoors. I had fun picking out interesting backdrops and trying to pull out a modern perspective for a very Old Hollywood styled model. I enjoyed the challenge and meeting new people. I can't wait for the next big group collaboration! Captions for each image will be posted above each section. <3

Andy and Betty were married several years ago, but did not have an opportunity until now to hire a photographer to document them. Since it's a huge trend back home, the two decided to get dressed up in their wedding attire and we planned out a half day shoot to photograph them in iconic locations: the Capitol Building in Topeka, at the always picturesque and rustic Cottonwood Station, and ending at Perry Lake for a sunset shot. It was so fun doing these shots outside the pressure of a wedding day. It's a great way for clients to get great images in iconic locations on days other than their actual wedding day. You can also save a pretty penny doing this this way, since my Saturdays and Sundays are in high wedding demand, but my week days are wide open for fun photo shoots!

I really enjoyed being back at the Castle Tea Room. It had been several years since I had been there to document a wedding. Darren and Lyda were married outside under the tent canopy. We did all their portraits on the premises and in the alley behind the Castle. My favorite local DJ, Jason Spencer, was the DJ and also hosted a photobooth for the couple. I love the stringed lights that hang overhead for the First Dance moments at the Castle. Congratulations to these two as the build a life together. <3

My aim with family photography is to capture families at play, connecting with each other. It was Carrie's idea to use the beautiful Stony Point Hall as our backdrop -- and what a great idea that was! I love using all the fun props on their property to help us style the shot or give us cute locations to shoot against. Enjoy these family pics of the Mugridge Family!
