Rusty's Cake Smash!

March 22, 2015  •  Leave a Comment

My good friends Amanda and Howie lent me their wonderful Rusty for a one year photo session in my brand new downtown studio. This is the first studio portrait session I've done in the new space, and only the 2nd cake smash session I've ever done. I had a lot of fun styling this shoot and look forward to more stylized sessions to come. Happy Birthday Rusty!

What a fun couple! I had a blast walking around the Crossroad district with this fun crew capturing wedding party portraits against the beautiful Kansas City cityscape. More photos from their wedding and reception at The Berg to follow.

I enjoyed taking professional headshots and couple portraits with the lovely Talbott Family. Kansas City's West Bottoms makes the perfect rustic industrial backdrop!

Ellen & Mark's Wedding {Govenor's Row House * Topeka, KS}

March 10, 2015  •  Leave a Comment

The story of Ellen and Mark and how they come to choose Topeka as their destination wedding location all the way from The Netherlands is a wonderful tale indeed. These two lovebirds met over a decade ago while foreign exchange students in Topeka, Kansas. The two met on the plane on the way to the states and a love blossomed. To tie the know, they came back to America, where it all began, to get married in Topeka with their host families as witnesses. They hired me without ever meeting me in person, but soon we found out that my photography style was just what they wanted to document their American wedding ceremony. For two hours before the ceremony, we drove around the streets of Topeka finding cute spots for pictures on this cold cold day in January. Without hand warmers and a heated car, this would have been unbearable, but the photos turned out perfect! You'd never know how cold it was this day! Much love to the two of them (and their baby who is on the way!) <3
