I was familiar with some of the work that Eligh did with The Grouch and came out to the show excited to see him perform. What I found in addition was that opener, Dem Atlas, was absolutely amazing. He's on Rhymesayers and lives in Minneapolis, which is know for a scene that mixed both hip hop and punk. I heard that in Dem Atlas' music, this longing for community and it resonated so much. Eligh's performance is raw and emotional. He shares himself and his story on the stage, revealing himself to the audience in a way that feels really authentic. Enjoy the pics.

I've been so excited to photograph Malakai & Kira's Halloween wedding in Lawrence, KS. Enjoy these Sneak Peeks and photobooth pics! <3

I really love taking photos for people I've known as long as I've known Cait (15+ years!) and Lydia! These two were a blast to work with -- they gave me full reign to just photograph what I wanted with no big shot list I had to abide by. Instead I was encouraged to document the small details of Cait's Pa's farm and encouraged to have some fun at the reception and enjoy hanging out with mutual friends while documenting the rawkus dance party. The end result is some of my favorite wedding photography to date! I loved everything about this wedding, from Cait's dad's insistence to having a 2nd quick ceremony in Missouri (after the first in Kansas) so that he could legally and ethically sign the Missouri marriage certificate to the giant circle of friends and family singing Billy Joel's Piano Man to Pa's special introduction to his Kentucky dance. A taco food truck and portraits in the graffiti alley took it all to the next level. This wedding will be one of my favorites for years and years to come! heart emoticon Much love to Lydia & Cait as they continue their lives together--we miss you up there in Pennsylvania!

I love courthouse and elopement wedding packages because it gives me an opportunity to provide wedding day portraits and that's it, not all the extras of reception photos and getting ready candids and detail shots and all the other things I photograph for my regular coverage weddings. Elopement packages and courthouse packages give me an opportunity to just work with the couple on their special day and focus on capturing beautiful images of the two of them. They are also cheaper packages because they are offered mid-week, when I typically don't book a full wedding day. This is one of those hidden gems for couples working on a budget or who just don't want to do the big fuss type of wedding. The photos from these sessions are always so gorgeous! <3 to Rachel & Andy!

One of my favorite things is photographing couples after their wedding, taking anniversary portraits, and family portraits as their family grows and changes. Enjoy this session with Steph & Ryan celebrating their 2nd anniversary together. Steph told me they have a place in their home where there is a framed engagement pic, wedding pic, first year anniversary pic, and soon to be a second anniversary pic all from our sessions together. It feels amazing to be part of people's lives through the years. Love to these two! <3
