I enjoyed doing this winter Lifestyle Family Session in Kansas City so much. So often I hear from clients that they are afraid to be in front of the camera, they don't know how to pose, and don't want to feel cheesy--that is what lifestyle sessions are for. Instead of posing, we take photos of the family doing what they do around the house. Meet the super rad staff of Elevate Massage: Mind Body Peace -- These are some of my favorite people to receive massage from. They are located across from Liberty Memorial Central Middle School on Mass Street; you can book online; with so many therapists you can almost always get a next day appointment, and get this: they are soon opening a float tank in a renovated building behind their main storefront! Van Go's Culinary Heart Event 2016 {Lawrence, KS * Van Go Inc.}
Van Go, Inc. is one of my favorite Lawrence, KS wedding venues. For couples, they are a great deal because the cost of using their space is a tax write-off, since they are a youth arts agency. Plus, their facilities look so beautiful at night with all of the stringed lights hanging and tons of bright and colorful art on the walls. I was happy to be invited to help document Culinary Hearts, one of their annual fundraisers. Enjoy the pics from the event!
Grace's Senior Portraits Class of 2016 {Lawrence, KS}
Senior Portraits in Lawrence, KS are always fun. I don't know why, but I get the coolest Seniors each year. There's never a dull moment. Claire was so much fun to work with! I love her cool style, cute glasses, and asymmetric hairstyle. We did two small sessions so that we could do a shoot in the fall leaves and also do a shoot using downtown Lawrence as our backdrop. I loved shooting with her and getting to know her and her mom during our sessions. Best wishes to Claire as you figure out the next steps in life. <3
Christine & Justin's Wedding {Lawrence, KS * Douglas County Courthouse}
I had such a great time working with Christine and Justin for their winter wedding in Lawrence, KS. Their families gathered in their home before the ceremony to share a toast and to take some photojournalistic coverage of the day. After family portraits on their front porch, the two walked the 6 blocks to the courthouse hand-in-hand. This was a private moment for the two of them, so I drove to meet them outside the courtyard for a few more photos before we went inside for their short courthouse ceremony. The two left arm in arm together to walk back home and I caught one more portrait of them on Mass Street. I love photojournalistic coverage and chill couples like these two, who just want a document of their special day, without any of the traditional posing. It's always fun for me to photograph weddings in new and interesting ways. Much love to these two! <3
