Kristalle & Angela's downtown Lawrence engagement session was super fun. I love capturing the life of LGBT couples, especially at a moment in history when we finally have same-sex marriage equality. You wouldn't know from the pics, but it was 12 degrees during this January winter engagement portrait session in Downtown Lawrence, KS. These two stylish ladies were awesome, we just ditched coats for some pics, and kept the two of them warm in each other's embrace--plus the Hand Warmers I'm obsessed with giving clients. ;) Since we were downtown it was easy to stop by the Oh Snap! studio (1101 1/2 Massachusetts Street) for the couple to change clothes and warm up for round two of engagement portraits downtown on Mass Street. We ended the session using the downtown Christmas lights out in front of the historic Downtown Antique Mall. Much love to these two as they plan their destination wedding! <3

Engagement season has begun at Oh Snap! I enjoyed working with Elizabeth & Jacob to capture these images in Downtown Lawrence with the city Christmas lights. Enjoy these pics! Can't wait for their wedding on New Years Eve!

Tawni & Daniel were my last wedding of 2015 and it was one of my favorite! I love the Victorian Veranda and Country Inn, it's one of those wedding venues that has the perfect amount of rustic backdrops to take portraits against without needing to leave the site. Tawni & Daniel were a lot of fun to work with, for their engagement session it ended up raining at the end of the session and we decided to just go for it and take photos of them dancing in the rain. It was then that I knew their wedding day would be fun no matter what. Brides who wear boots are always fun to work with and those bridesmaids were a riot! Daniel and the guys were dressed so dapper in their dark wash jeans and suspenders. What a perfect country wedding. We ended the day's coverage at Daniel's truck with a quick little make out session. Perfect. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!

I'm super excited to photograph Brian and Jennifer's wedding in May. We enjoyed taking engagement and maternity portraits around iconic Kansas City locations, ending at The Scout where the couple donned Royals and Chiefs jerseys to show their hometown pride. Their wedding day is gonna be a lot of fun! <3

Marisa & John's wedding was so much fun to photograph. It was a hot summer day, but Berry Acres was beautiful on the inside, so we were able to stay in the air conditioning all day, and wait until later in the evening to go outside for wedding party portraits. I love when clients are willing to use the best part of the day for portraits, the last hour of daylight it always the best time for capturing beautiful portrait quality light. I had the best time using all the rustic backdrops that Berry Acres as to offer, from their vintage blue truck, Butch, yes, he has a name, to the line of hay and rustic shapes of the building. Berry Acres has one of the coolest dancefloors in the area-- it is lit up by thousands of LED lights, which makes for a gorgeous backdrop for the dancing photos, first dance, bouquet/garter toss, and the shoe game--a new trend for weddings we were happy to photograph! Enjoy these summer wedding pics! Much love to Marisa & John! <3
