The fun of concert photography is finding ways to use the limited stage lighting to create a backdrop for the artist. I find those beams of light and manipulate my camera angle and body to get the subject positioned just so with the background in mind. Snap. Then the lights change colors and I get newly inspired all over again. Concert photography is how I got my start taking photos for clients, and it remains one of my most favorite subjects to photograph. I love the limitations presented: using constantly changing light, limited on what songs I can shoot and from where, the challenged of low light photography and a moving subject. Family portraits are a smaller segments of my business, but something I enjoy immensely. With the Rasor-Dewhirst family we enjoyed hanging out in the East Lawrence Warehouse Arts District, which are also near the closed RR tracks in East Lawrence.
