Gay Marriage is now Legal in All 50 States! The Supreme Court decision came down on June 26, 2015, just in time for friends and families to celebrate with Rishad and Jonathan on July 3rd. The air was full of jubilation as their family members gave toasts and blessings. Jonathan and Rishad got married in 2014, but waited a year to celebrate with friends and family (who flew in from India, Australia, the UK and places all over the US). It was such an honor to be asked to document this important day. Enjoy the pics. Best wishes to these two as they continue to make a happy home together. 

When I heard that Krista & Matt never received their August 2014 wedding photographs from their KC photographer, I was so shocked and sad! From what it sounds like, their photographer lost a hard drive and is now facing tons of irate clients whose wedding photos may never be recovered. To be quite honest, I was pretty shocked to hear this story. I'm a back-up girl, the night of the wedding, those images are being loaded online into a cloud so that me and my clients are protected from loss of images. I take file management pretty darn serious. In addition, I keep weddings on their original CF cards until I have finished editing the project and have sent it out the door--this way, if I ever lose a hard drive, not only will I have back-up on a cloud, but I will head right out and buy a replacement computer, reload my Lightroom, and be on my merry way, importing in photos of unfinished projects straight from the card to computer, like it was just shot yesterday.

But I digress, when I heard that Leslie Cooper of Something Blue Salon's plans to organize a stylized shoot for Krista, I was happy to get involved. A big thank you to Leslie for organizing this! My fingers are crossed that some files may be one day able to be retrieved. Much love to these two! You've already weathered an unimaginable storm, you got the rest of this. May it be pleasant and smooth sailing from here on out. <3

When Alison (of Coat Party) asked me to meet with her and Tyler to talk about photographing their wedding I was so pumped! Alison was in one of my favorite local bands, and so I was excited to be a part of her special day with Tyler. I knew the music was going to be good at their wedding, which is always a great sign of me having a great time! Their wedding day was perfect, one of the first hot days of summer. I had a great time hanging out with their crew for the day, snapping pics in iconic Lawrence locations from KU's campus and Danforth Chapel to the downtown Carnegie Building.
